Ryan Huber | Head Men's Soccer Coach
Coach Ryan Huber enters his 6th year as the Head Men's Soccer Coach, having joined the Pacers in 2017.
Ozzy Peralta | Associate Head Men's Soccer Coach
Coach Peralta enters his seventh year as an assistant coach for the Pacers. Peralta graduated from WPU in 2017 with a B.S. in Business Administration, and was a member of the William Peace University men's soccer program from 2015-2017. Coach Peralta served as the Associate Head Coach at Louisburg High School for two seasons from 2013-2014 prior to coming to William Peace. He was named the Associate Head Men's Soccer Coach in the Fall of 2022.
Coach Peralta has coached at several soccer camps including Mt. Olive, Top Drawer Soccer, NC State University, Duke University, UNCG and various camps in Louisburg, NC. Along with this Coach Peralta coaches at NCFC at the ECNL RL level. In 2022, he led his 03/04 Elite team to the ECNL Region League Regular Season Championship, as well as the ECNL RL Carolinas Cup Tournament Championship. In 2023, he led his 04/05 Elite Team to the ECNL RL Southeast Regional Championship. He also currently serves as an assistant coach for NCFC with the USL2 U23 Team.
In his seven years as an assistant, Coach Peralta has helped the men's soccer program gain their first All-Conference selection (2017), their first USA South Conference Tournament appearance (2018), a USA South Rookie of the Year (2018), the first USA South East Division Championship appearance (Spring 2021), first regular season title win in program history and first title win in school history for men's program (Fall 2021), most wins in a regular season (2021), the first USA South Goalkeeper of the Year Award (Fall 2021), the first All-Region selections with three (Fall 2021) along with numerous All-Conference selections.
Peralta was also named the Interim Head Women's Soccer Coach in the Fall of 2021, where he led the program to their first program win over crosstown rival Meredith College and had two All-Conference selections.
Peralta was hired as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in 2017, and in the fall of 2019 he was promoted to the position of Director of Athletic Communications.
Christian Ortiz | Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
Coach Ortiz enters his fourth year with the Pacer’s staff.
Ortiz brings a plethora of experience as a player. Ortiz spent two years at NCAA DII powerhouse Limestone College where he won the conference carolinas and then went on to compete in the NCAA tournament in both 2014 and 2015 where they managed to make it into the third round of the national tournament.
In 2016 Christian made his debut for WPU where he proved of making an immediate impact for the pacers. In his first season Christian managed to finish as the number 1 keeper in the conference with the highest save percentage (.801) and also managed to tally over 100 saves. Christian came into his final season at WPU with a new role. Christian was a captain of the Pacers and remained as one of the best goalkeepers in the conference.
Outside of college soccer Christian played for semi-pro side WV Chaos where they managed to finish third in one of the most competitive PDL conferences (Great Lakes Conference) and managed to qualify for the US Open cup. Christian also had the opportunity to play for pro side Charlotte Independence over the summer where he spent much time training with the keepers, but also along side with the coaches to get a new perspective.
Although Christian is a newcomer to the WPU sideline, he is not a stranger to coaching.
Christian has spent time coaching with a club back in his hometown of Concord NC coaching at the academy level at CSC (Cabarrus Soccer Club) where he primarily focused dealing with goalkeepers and older kids Christian also shared time training the goalkeepers at UPSL side Broncos FC NC.
